A process of coating a rough surface to create a smooth cushioned grip!

In spray powder coating particles of powder are given an electrical charge and sprayed onto a grounded part. The "fuzzy" part is then sent through a cure oven where the powder flows out to a smooth,durable finish. Pictured is a coated hollow tube used in a medical or dental office.

In Dip Coating a part is heated and then dipped into a vinyl liquid. The part is then sent through a cure oven where the coating become smooth and strong. The vinyl (or plastisol) is available in various colors, textures, and hardnesses. Thicknesses from .010" to .125" are available depending on time and temperature variables. The part pictured is a wrist rest for a medical application.

In Dip Molding a mold (mandrel) is heated and then dipped into vinyl. The coated mandrel is then sent through a cure oven where the coating becomes smooth and strong. As it comes out of the cure oven it is removed from the mandrel with compressed air and placed into a cooling water bath. If desired, the part can then be placed into a trim die and windows or holes can be cut. The part pictured is a seat belt reel cover.
